Engineering & Manufacturing Capabilities
PTS designs, engineers, and manufactures every product we field — in-house, in North Alabama. From concept to fielded system, we own the entire process. That means faster delivery, tighter quality control, and the ability to respond when programs need custom systems on compressed timelines.
End-to-end. In-house. North Alabama.
Most ancillary communications equipment is designed by one company, manufactured by another, and supported by a third. PTS operates differently. Our engineering team works out of Huntsville, Alabama — the heart of the Army's communications and intelligence enterprise — and our manufacturing operations are in Arab, Alabama. Every PSDS, E-Kit™, Battery Replacement Unit, and antenna system that leaves our facility was designed, built, and tested by PTS. No offshore production. No outsourced engineering. When a program has a requirement, we can respond directly — because we control every step.

Our Capabilities
In-House Product Engineering
PTS engineering is based in Huntsville, Alabama — giving our team direct proximity to PEO C3T, Redstone Arsenal, and the Army’s communications requirements community. We design power supply, docking, and ancillary systems for fielded tactical radio platforms from the ground up — including custom configurations for specific program requirements. Engineering, prototyping, and design iteration all happen under one roof.

In-House Manufacturing
PTS manufacturing is located in Arab, Alabama. Every PSDS, E-Kit™, Battery Replacement Unit, and antenna system is assembled and tested at our North Alabama facility before it ships. In-house manufacturing means we control quality, schedule, and response time. We are not dependent on third-party manufacturers or overseas supply chains for our core product lines.

11-Patent Portfolio
PTS holds granted US patents protecting the core technologies behind our PSDS and expeditionary communications systems. Our intellectual property position reflects 30 years of focused engineering investment in this specific problem set — providing conditioned, regulated power to tactical radios in expeditionary environments faster, more reliably, and with less complexity than the alternatives.

COTS Integration
PTS products are designed as Commercial Off-The-Shelf products that integrate directly with fielded Army radio platforms — SINCGARS, L3Harris Falcon III family, RTX, and others — without requiring program modifications, vehicle modification, or specialized installation. PTS products are not ITAR-controlled (EAR jurisdiction); export classification is assigned per item (ECCN 3A611.x for docking stations and kits, ECCN 5A991 for PTS HF antennas, EAR99 for commodities), enabling rapid delivery to US military customers, with international transfers supported under the applicable EAR authorization.

When timelines compress, we deliver.
The Requirement
In 2017, a National Guard customer needed an HF Power Supply Docking Station system in support of a national special security event. The requirement came in with a compressed development timeline that would have been impractical for most suppliers.
The Result
PTS delivered a fully operational, purpose-built HF PSDS in under two months. The HF communications network was established in record time. No off-the-shelf product existed for this requirement — PTS engineered, built, and delivered a custom system from scratch, on schedule, for one of the highest-visibility communications events in the country.
“Designed, built, and delivered in under two months.”
This is what in-house engineering and manufacturing makes possible. When a program has a non-standard requirement or an accelerated timeline, PTS can respond in ways that suppliers without engineering and manufacturing control cannot.
Built for program scale.
PTS has supported fielding across every Active Army Division — more than 14,000 units deployed worldwide. Our production capacity scales with program requirements. Whether a program needs 10 units for a pilot or volume delivery for a full fielding, PTS has the manufacturing infrastructure to support it.
Supplier qualification and teaming.
PTS is an active subcontractor and teaming partner on programs requiring expeditionary communications systems. We are registered in SAM.gov, hold an active GSA Schedule, and are accessible through the CHS-6 / Leidos contract vehicle. If your program is evaluating PTS as a supplier or teaming partner, the following identifiers support qualification documentation.
